Piloting and Testing
Piloting and Testing
Services for successful remediation
As part of our commitment to successful projects, we developed a industrial size pilot facility, where we can process ponded ash. We typically process enough material provided by the client to complete full chemical analysis and concrete testing for various mix designs. Clients are welcome to be on site to watch their waste ash transform during this pilot work.
Embarking on a beneficiation project can feel like a substantial undertaking, representing a significant commitment. We recognize the importance for our customers to have a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies involved and how the process unfolds. Given the unique characteristics of each ash pond and the variability in ash properties, certain materials may be more conducive to beneficiation.
To ease the apprehensions of our customers and provide them with clarity, we conduct the Ponded Ash Beneficiation System (PABS) pilot. This crucial step not only validates process design parameters but also serves to familiarize our customers with the workings of our PABS process, instilling confidence in the project’s success.
As part of our commitment to transparency and quality assurance, our customers receive samples of the final product. Moreover, these samples undergo comprehensive evaluation by independent laboratories. The assessment covers key aspects such as chemical composition, water demand, Particle Size Distribution (PSD), Loss on Ignition (LOI), and overall concrete compressive strength. This meticulous evaluation ensures that the final product aligns with ASTM and other relevant standards for Fly Ash, meeting stringent quality benchmarks.
At Ash-TEK, we prioritize transparency, customer comfort, and adherence to industry standards. Our PABS pilot and rigorous quality assessments are integral steps in our dedication to delivering successful and compliant beneficiation projects.

WHO WE ARE VS.
Our Competition
Competition is advancing and while each has their own unique spin on the recovery of ponded or landfilled coal fly ash. Only Ash-TEK has been able to deliver consistent final product from a wide variety of ash sources with varying chemistries, sizes and characteristics. Ash-TEK is the only company capable of relocating its equipment from one facility to another and does not require deep foundations for operation.
Ash-TEK understands that for the process to work we must be capable, adaptable, portable and cost effective. Our knowledge of ponded ash has allowed us to create a system which addresses not only the chemical component but also the oxidation state and the particle size of the available raw material. Ash-TEK is not limited by variations in the ponded ash. Our very process is geared to addressing those variations which our competition seeks to avoid.
